Abdominoplasty After the Operation

Abdominoplasty Basics :: Abdominoplasty After the Op
Abdominoplasty Discussion :: Abdominoplasty Complications :: Am I Eligible?

  • An abdominal binder is placed around the abdomen after surgery and kept in place for about two weeks. A bladder catheter is placed for about two days whilst in hospital

  • After the operation you must avoid movements which put pressure on the healing skin. leaning backwards a long way, such as stretching during a yawn, is one such example

  • Avoid heavy lifting (>10kg) for 6 weeks. Avoid driving and sexual activity for three weeks

  • Women may notice that they urinate more anteriorly or "out in front" for a while after surgery as the pubic area may be lifted somewhat

  • Old C-section scares are usually removed at the time of surgery
