For most of my life, I had battled with my weight. It became a lot worse as I got into my mid-to-late twenties. I tried multiple different diets, and at times my weight would drop, but I could not sustain that. I became very self-conscious and found it very difficult to do simple things like go for a walk or go to the park with my daughter. This was extremely hard mentally and emotionally for me. My weight got to a high of 132kg. I started to experience some other health issues which included high blood pressure.

I decided to start looking into weight loss surgery. For a start, as most of us do, I jumped online and started searching for what might be my best option. This is when I found NEWLS. I chose to have the sleeve done. Leading up to the surgery I lost 17kg and since having the sleeve done, I have lost 35 kgs with takes me to a healthy weight of 80kg.

Try different foods, even foods that you may not have enjoyed before surgery. I have found to enjoy different foods that I didn’t enjoy prior to having the surgery.
